Foligno hosts 27th I Primi d’Italia pasta festival
The 27th edition of I Primi d’Italia, a national festival dedicated to Italian first courses, is scheduled to take place in Foligno from September 24 to 27, 2026. The event features over 70 appointments across 15 locations in the city's historic center, utilizing the taverns of the Rioni della Quintana as “Villaggi del Gusto” (Taste Villages).
The festival showcases a wide variety of regional specialties, including Sicilian dishes, carbonara, amatriciana, risotto, and tortello mantovano, alongside gluten-free and vegan options. A central highlight is the “A Tavola con le Stelle” program, which features Michelin-starred chefs such as Giuseppe Iannotti, Mirko Marcelli, Domenico Candela, and Maurizio Serva, who will present traditional recipes using contemporary techniques.
In addition to tastings, the event includes cooking shows, workshops on fresh pasta, and culinary encounters with producers. The festival has seen significant growth, with organizers noting that previous editions involved over 200 companies and 60 chefs, attracting approximately 106,000 visitors.
