Foligno nursery faces crisis as 21 families withdraw
In Foligno, 21 families have withdrawn their children from the ‘F. Innamorati’ nursery following a change in management. Regional Councilor for Education, Fabio Barcaioli, has called on Mayor Stefano Zuccarini to review the municipal decisions regarding the facility.
Barcaioli highlighted the economic burden on families, noting that despite monthly fees being reduced from 692 euros to 625 euros, the cost remains too high for many. He also urged the administration to utilize regional funds to improve accessibility. Currently, the facility has reported only one child in attendance during its initial days of operation.
This situation occurs as Umbria seeks to expand early childhood services, with local municipalities requesting 260 new places across various towns, including Perugia and Castiglione del Lago.
