Foligno prepares for historic Giostra della Quintana procession

The historic Giostra della Quintana in Foligno is set to feature a grand Baroque procession. The Corteo Storico, consisting of ten district representations including ladies, knights, musicians, and allegorical figures, will parade through the city center starting from Piazza del Grano.

This year’s event includes special appearances by official godmother Federica Moro and international godmother Eleonora Pieroni. The artistic direction for the competition includes a banner designed by Mimmo Paladino, which incorporates symbols of peace.

Since 2014, the event has maintained a tradition of commissioning contemporary artists to create the winner's banners, blending historical reenactment with modern art. The procession will traverse various landmarks, including Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza San Domenico, before concluding its circuit.
