Folketrygdfondet reports 31 billion NOK return for Statens pensjonsfond Norge

Folketrygdfondet reported a 7.4 percent return for the Statens pensjonsfond Norge (SPN) during the first half of the year, amounting to 31.4 billion NOK. This brought the fund's total capital to 440.1 billion NOK by the end of the period.

CEO Kjetil Houg noted that the strong performance on the Oslo Børs, driven in part by oil price fluctuations, contributed to the positive absolute return, though the fund remains slightly behind its benchmark index by 0.19 percentage points. The equity portfolio rose by 11.0 percent, while the fixed-income portfolio saw a 1.0 percent increase.

In contrast, the Statens fond i Tromsø (SFT) experienced a decline, posting a return of -5.4 percent, which equates to a loss of 0.8 billion NOK. This left the Tromsø-based fund with a total capital of 14.7 billion NOK at the end of the half-year.
