Folklorama 2026 opens Canadian-French Pavilion

The Canadian-French Pavilion opened as part of the 2026 edition of Folklorama, running from August 2 to August 8. The event featured cultural presentations aimed at recreating the atmosphere of New France.

Highlights included choreographies by the Ensemble folklorique de la Rivière-Rouge and historical reenactments by the Compagnie de La Vérendrye. Visitors also observed traditional crafts, such as the handmade production of ceintures fléchées by René Bohémier, a process requiring between 150 and 200 hours per piece. An exhibition at the CCFM art gallery displayed period costumes, maps, and historical objects to showcase the heritage of the community.
