Folklore festivals in Kula, Serbia and Brčko, Bosnia showcase traditional music and dance

The cultural‑artistic society “Serbia” organized a two‑day “Folklore Fest” in Kula, Serbia, on the grounds of the primary school Isa Bajić. The event opened with a summer concert by KUD “Serbia” and featured folk games, songs and a festival of performing ensembles, with groups from Pančevo, Banska Palanka and a Serbian diaspora ensemble from Toronto. Provincial cultural authorities funded the festival, and president Natasha Vujković praised the intensive rehearsals, twelve new choreographies and the positive audience response.

In Brčko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the 23rd Folklore Show was held at the Blatusha sports stadium, organized by the Serbian educational and cultural society “Prosveshata”. Eleven ensembles from Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia performed traditional music, costumes and dances, including pieces from Gnjilan and Kosovo‑Metohija. Representatives highlighted the event’s role in preserving cultural identity, strengthening regional friendships and involving youth, despite high temperatures.
