Follonica and Pontedera councils demand transparency on local service plans
In Follonica, councilor Giacomo Manni has tabled an urgent interrogation asking the municipal administration to clarify the status of the coastal development program, known as the “Piano della Costa.” He stresses the need for a clear, legally binding plan that addresses public beach access, safety, tourism, and the future management of maritime concessions, which are set to run until September 2027.
Meanwhile, the Pontedera council has submitted an urgent question regarding the possible closure of the Centro Prelievi on via C. Colombo. The inquiry seeks confirmation from the mayor and the municipal executive about any plans to centralise services at the via Fleming district, warning that such a move could disrupt access for elderly and mobility‑impaired residents in the Fuori del Ponte area and surrounding frazioni.
