Follonica approves new waste center to enable Cittadella del Carnevale project

The Follonica municipal government has approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Ato Toscana Sud and Sei Toscana to construct a new waste collection center on via dell’Industria. The project has a total value of approximately 1.19 million euros, with over 950,000 euros funded through FESR resources.

This new facility is intended to modernize environmental services and improve waste management efficiency. Crucially, the relocation of the current ecological island will free up land necessary to advance the ‘Cittadella del Carnevale’ project. This long-awaited development is planned as a public-private partnership with Eurospin, aiming to transform the city without placing a direct financial burden on local citizens.
