Follonica Basket organizes protest over gym assignments

The Follonica Basket club organized a peaceful protest at the Follonica municipal building to demand the assignment of the Ex Ilva gymnasium. The initiative, led by club president Raffaele Battaglini, involved children gathering under the town hall portico to highlight the lack of available school sports spaces for the current season.

Local opposition councilors criticized the municipal administration for significant delays in the gym allocation process. While the public notice for sports associations was approved on October 6, it was not published promptly, causing uncertainty for clubs attempting to organize training and courses. Following political pressure and a formal warning from the opposition, the municipality reportedly accelerated its efforts to grant access to the facilities.
