Follonica implements new schools, social programs, and educational initiatives

The municipality of Follonica is seeing several community-focused developments. Two new schools, the Polo 0-6 at Parco Centrale and the ‘Rodari’ school in Senzuno, have officially opened. Local opposition groups acknowledged the importance of these public works, noting that the projects required extensive administrative and technical coordination by municipal offices to become functional educational spaces.

In social initiatives, the Rotary Club Follonica has launched the ‘Golf4autism’ project at Riva Toscana Golf. This program supports children and adolescents from the Biglie Sciolte APS association, using golf as a therapeutic tool to improve motor coordination, attention, and socialization in a natural environment.

Additionally, the Università della Libera Età (University of Lifelong Learning) of Follonica is preparing for its 2026/2027 academic year. The program, which focuses on culture and social connection for adults, will hold an official presentation of its courses on September 26 at the Teatro Fonderia Leopolda, with classes scheduled to begin in October.
