FONAP signs partnership agreements in Niger

The National Fund for Support to Small and Medium Enterprises and Industries (FONAP) has signed two partnership agreements in Niamey to bolster the artisanal sector in Niger. The agreements were signed with the Agency for the International Craft Fair for Women (SAFEM) and the Chamber of Crafts of Niger (CMANI).

The partnership with SAFEM aims to facilitate the participation of entrepreneurs, particularly women, in international craft fairs to promote and market their products. The agreement with CMANI focuses on identifying eligible artisans, enhancing their skills, facilitating access to financing, and supporting the formalization of their business activities.

Minister of Economy and Finance Mamane Laouali Abdou Rafa noted that the artisanal sector serves as a vital lever for economic sovereignty and resource valuation. He emphasized that these partnerships reflect collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
