Fondation Nationale des Musées plans specialized training for Moroccan heritage professionals
The Fondation Nationale des Musées (FNM) has presented the results of a feasibility study aimed at developing specialized training programs for the museum and heritage sectors in Morocco. The initiative seeks to strengthen professional skills to better preserve, manage, and transmit the nation's cultural heritage.
Conducted in partnership with the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and France Muséums, with support from the French Embassy in Morocco, the study identifies current and future sectoral needs. Proposed training areas include preventive conservation, collection documentation, restoration, cultural mediation, scenography, and exhibition management, as well as digital innovation and institutional governance.
FNM President Mehdi Qotbi emphasized that developing museums requires investing in human capital alongside institutional growth. The study will guide upcoming decisions regarding pedagogical content, economic models, and governance to ensure a sustainable professional ecosystem for Moroccan museums.
