Fondazione Apri le Braccia transforms industrial waste into art

The Scarti d’Autore project, initiated by Fondazione Apri le Braccia (FALB) in collaboration with Confindustria Novara Vercelli Valsesia, aims to transform industrial waste and defective production materials into works of art.

Beyond promoting a circular economy, the initiative focuses on social inclusion by empowering people with disabilities to act as authentic authors and protagonists in the local cultural production process. The project seeks to demonstrate how industrial leftovers can be reimagined through a shared creative path.

Fondazione Comunità Novarese is supporting the initiative with a 30,000 euro contribution, funded by Fondazione Cariplo’s Territorial 2026 resources. Local companies are participating by providing materials that would otherwise be discarded but still possess creative potential.
