Fondazione Arcaplanet launches animal welfare campaign at Jova Summer Party

Fondazione Arcaplanet is launching an awareness campaign against animal abandonment during the Jova Summer Party tour. The initiative aims to promote responsible adoption and highlight the critical issue of abandoned pets in Italy.

Statistics indicate that approximately 130,000 animals, including 80,000 dogs and 50,000 cats, are abandoned annually in Italy. The phenomenon peaks during the summer months, with August being the most difficult period. Southern regions, including Sicily, Campania, Calabria, Puglia, and Lazio, account for over 65% of the country's estimated stray and wandering dogs.

To address this, the foundation will host awareness spaces at the tour stops in Naples on September 5 and Rome on September 12 and 13. The campaign features the ‘A come Adozione’ project, which uses an online portal to connect shelter animals with potential families through detailed profiles and stories. For every pet adopted via the platform, the foundation provides 50 kilograms of support to shelters.
