Fondazione Astori receives Tuscany Region Pegaso award

The Tuscany Region has awarded the Pegaso prize to the Davide Astori Foundation during the Next Generation Festival 2026. The award was presented by Bernard Dika, Undersecretary of the Presidency.

Five years after the death of the former Fiorentina captain, the foundation has focused on transforming the tragedy into positive action through cardiology research and prevention initiatives. Bruno Astori, the brother of Davide Astori, stated that the foundation is financing research projects and prevention efforts, noting the importance of addressing rare diseases.

The foundation's first major achievement is the ‘Giovani Sicuri’ project, which has already reached 12,000 young people across Tuscany. Bruno Astori emphasized the critical role of schools in prevention, advocating for training in first aid and appropriate screening tools to identify subtle pathologies that may affect individuals even outside of competitive sports.
