Fondazione Marazza to host event on 1970s feminist photography
The Fondazione Marazza in Borgomanero will host an event titled ‘Photography and Feminism in 1970s Italy’ on Saturday, October 17. The session, led by Irene De Sabbata, will feature a presentation of research curated by Cristina Cesareo from the National Museum of Photography.
The event aims to explore how visual arts served as a tool for documenting social changes and female identity during that decade. It also serves as the official launch for a series of community initiatives led by the North Novarese anti-violence center, preceding the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25. This mobilization will include exhibitions and conferences across 50 municipalities to promote reflection on gender-based violence prevention.
