Fondazione Ricci hosts exhibition celebrating 40 years of BargaJazz
The Fondazione Ricci in Barga has launched a new exhibition titled ‘JAZZ! Omaggio a 40 anni di BargaJazz’ to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the BargaJazz festival. The exhibition, which runs until September 27, 2026, explores the intersection of music and visual arts through the works of four distinct artists: Keane, Tony Phillips, Caterina Salvi, and Enrico Stefanelli.
The display is organized into several sections. Tony Phillips presents paintings and prints that interpret jazz as a symbol of cultural exchange and Barga’s international character. Enrico Stefanelli contributes black-and-white photography captured during his tenure as the festival’s official photographer from 1996 to 2005. Additionally, the exhibition features the BargaJazz Greenroom Project (2013-2014), showcasing 1,300 portraits that captured the social connections of the festival’s afterhours. The collection is rounded out by documentary materials, posters, and archival publications curated by Sara Moscardini.
