Italy implements diverse social inclusion and youth employment initiatives
Various Italian regional and national initiatives are targeting social inclusion, youth employment, and professional training through diverse sectors.
Fondazione Snam has expanded its ‘Verde Inclusivo’ project to over 10 regions. The program provides vocational training in green space maintenance and landscaping for vulnerable individuals, specifically targeting youth recovering from addiction. The initiative involves 35 companies and 27 recovery communities, including San Patrignano and Fondazione Exodus, to facilitate transition into the workforce.
In Umbria, the regional government has allocated 4 million euros for over 1,000 extracurricular internships for citizens under 35, with specific funds reserved for internal areas to combat depopulation. Similarly, a 15-million-euro fund has been launched by ‘Con i bambini srl’ to support ‘second chance schools’ for youth aged 14 to 21 at risk of dropping out of education.
Other regional efforts include a seminar in Macerata focused on rural development and agricultural competitiveness through credit access and generational renewal, and the launch of an Executive Master in Political and Institutional Communication in Rome.
