Fondazione VismaradePetri opens Snoezelen room in Pizzighettone

The Fondazione Vismara De Petri ETS has opened a new Snoezelen multisensory room at its former Mazza facility in Pizzighettone, Italy. The space, created with co‑financing from the Fondazione Comunitaria della Provincia di Cremona, forms part of the “Quality of Life and Care in RSA” project aimed at enhancing care for vulnerable individuals.

The Snoezelen environment offers controlled lighting, sounds, colours, tactile materials and scents to provide non‑pharmacological therapy. It is intended to improve the psychological and physical wellbeing of users, particularly people with dementia, behavioural disorders and autism spectrum conditions, by reducing anxiety and agitation while promoting relaxation and engagement. Training programmes for operators, educators and caregivers are also being provided to support the methodology.
