Fonderie Pisano seeks court appeal to restart production and prevent layoffs

Fonderie Pisano is appealing to the Regional Administrative Court (Tar) to facilitate the immediate restart of its Fratte plant. The company's management expressed concern after the Campania Region suspended the review of its Integrated Environmental Authorization (AIA), pending further environmental impact documentation. The company claims it has already submitted the necessary integrations to comply with Council of State rulings and Best Available Techniques (BAT) standards.

Management argues that an immediate restart using an already authorized electric furnace would prevent imminent collective layoffs, as social safety nets have been exhausted.

Simultaneously, the Fiom-Cgil union has issued an appeal to the company, regional authorities, and local mayors to protect the jobs of 160 workers from Fonderie Pisano and the former ArcelorMittal site in Luogosano. The union is looking toward a decisive meeting at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy on October 21 to seek industrial continuity and prevent layoffs or plant closures.
