Fonds de Garantie Automobile opens new liaison office in Abengourou

The Fonds de Garantie Automobile (FGA) has inaugurated its 17th liaison office in Abengourou, located within the Établissement Public Hospitalier Régional (EPHR). This opening, which took place on September 25, 2026, is part of the ‘FGA Tour,’ a national information campaign regarding the systematic and free medical coverage for victims of road traffic accidents.

FGA Director General Maizan Koffi Noël stated that the reform, initiated under instructions from President Alassane Ouattara, prioritizes immediate medical care for victims over the immediate determination of financial liability. The fund works alongside health centers to ensure victims receive treatment before the FGA pursues recovery actions against responsible parties.

The mechanism does not cover damages to the responsible driver, victims of train or tramway accidents, or drivers of stolen vehicles and their accomplices.
