Fontaines D. C. release new single ‘Tongue’ ahead of upcoming album

Fontaines D. C. Tongue single Dopamine Chamber album post-punk XL Recordings

Irish band Fontaines D. C. has released ‘Tongue’, the second single from their upcoming fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber. The album is scheduled for release on October 16th via XL Recordings.

The new track features an expansive sound that moves away from the band’s early post-punk roots. Musical elements include manipulated tape speeds to create bass lines and processed vocals. The single is accompanied by a music video directed by John Angus Stewart, filmed in New York City.

Dopamine Chamber follows the band’s 2024 platinum-certified album, Romance. The upcoming project includes a collaboration with Rosalía on the track ‘Where Is Gone?’ and explores themes of pleasure and peril in a collapsing world.
