Fontana and Arnaboldi secure first CIRT victory at Rally dei Nuraghi

Matteo Fontana and Alessandro Arnaboldi achieved their first victory in the Campionato Italiano Rally Terra (CIRT) at the Rally dei Nuraghi e del Vermentino in Sardinia. Driving a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, the crew overcame difficult conditions including fog, rain, and punctures to win by a margin of 3.2 seconds.

Alberto Battistolli and Simone Scattolin finished second in their Skoda Fabia RS, reopening the fight for the championship title. Mattia Scandola and Nicolò Gonella secured their first career podium. Other category winners in Sardinia included Alex Lorenzato, the new Rally3 Italian Champion, Massimiliano Tonso in the CIRT Over55, and the Stella-Refondini duo in CIRT Rally5.

In separate news, Marco Signor and Daniele Michi have been crowned the 2026 Italian Rally Challenger Champions. Driving a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, the EASI team crew secured the title mathematically prior to the final race in Como, following a season that included 13 special stage wins.
