Fontanosas hosts 14-kilometer hiking route in Ciudad Real

As part of the XL Almagro Autumn Hiking Days 2026, participants completed a 14-kilometer circular route through Fontanosas in the province of Ciudad Real. The settlement, which is administratively shared between Almodóvar del Campo and Abenójar, offered a landscape characterized by holm oaks, cork oaks, and olive groves.

The excursion highlighted local natural and historical landmarks, including the Quejigares riverbanks, ancient granite quarries, a mill, and the ‘cueva del tío Máximo’. The event aimed to showcase the rural heritage and traditional way of life within the Montes de Ciudad Real and Valle de Alcudia regions.
