Food and beverage producers expand international trade presence
The food and beverage industry is seeing increased international engagement through targeted business events and trade fairs. In Zagreb, the Hungarian–Croatian Food & Drink Business Event is scheduled for November 3, 2026, at the Sheraton Hotel. Organized by the Hungarian Embassy in Zagreb and the Hungarian Agricultural Marketing Centre, the event aims to connect 35 Hungarian producers with Croatian distributors, importers, and retailers. Participating companies include Abonett, Gyermelyi, Gilan Trading, Gramex 2000, and Cornexi Food, offering products ranging from confectionery and pasta to meat and beverages, with opportunities for private label cooperation.
Simultaneously, Croatian food companies are expanding their global footprint at SIAL Paris, one of the world's largest food industry trade fairs. Organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy, the delegation includes companies such as Kraš, Sirana Gligora, Solana Nin, and Prodan tartufi. The Croatian food and beverage sector is a significant economic driver, accounting for over 18 percent of gross value added and contributing approximately 15 percent to the country's total foreign trade. Luka Burilović, president of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, noted that the industry's export value reached 2.4 billion euros in 2025, emphasizing the importance of modernization and branding to maintain competitiveness.
