Food Bank conducts emergency drills in Utena

The Food Bank (Maisto bankas) is conducting emergency preparedness drills in the Utena district to test response capabilities during unexpected crises such as fires, floods, or pandemics. The exercise involves a team representing 40 Lithuanian municipalities working alongside Utena district municipal institutions.

Activities include theoretical training, practical preparation and distribution of food packages, hot meal production, and fire extinguishing drills. The simulation aims to ensure rapid and coordinated action between the Food Bank and local authorities. More than 500 people are expected to participate, including over 100 Food Bank staff and approximately 500 local residents who will receive food packages as part of the drill.

Local residents may notice increased traffic and a higher presence of emergency services, including police and fire rescue officers, near the Utena Culture Center and Dauniškis Gymnasium during the exercises.
