Food Bank launches 41st nationwide donation campaign in Lithuania
The Food Bank is launching its 41st nationwide campaign in Lithuania on October 9–10. The initiative involves approximately 7,000 volunteers across 374 stores in 70 towns and cities, inviting shoppers to donate at least one long-lasting food product to assist those in need.
Nineteen NGOs and 40 Food Bank branches, along with nine retail chains, are participating in the autumn drive. Donated items will be distributed to people in the same or nearby localities. The organization has specifically requested donations of meat and fish preserves, as well as oil, noting that while oil donations have increased significantly in recent years, protein-rich canned goods remain in high demand and low supply.
Food Bank head Simonas Gurevičius emphasized the scale of the volunteer effort, noting that participants include students, corporate groups, and community members from every municipality in the country.
