Food Bank of Wyoming launches Hunger Action Month campaign
September marks Hunger Action Month, a nationwide campaign led by the Feeding America network to raise awareness and combat food insecurity.
In Wyoming, the Food Bank of Wyoming reports that one in six residents, including one in five children, face hunger. Recent data indicates that 94,440 people in the state experience food insecurity, the highest level recorded since 2014. To support relief efforts, the Powder River Energy Foundation, Powder River Energy Corporation, and CoBank have pledged to match donations to the Food Bank of Wyoming up to $40,000 during the month.
The Food Bank of Wyoming is encouraging community involvement through financial contributions, volunteering, and virtual food drives to maximize the impact of available resources.
