Food companies expand retail presence in Taiwan

Food industry players are expanding their presence in the Taiwanese retail market to meet changing consumer habits. Shin Yeh International Food Group is launching a new line of frozen ready-to-eat products, such as spicy radish meat buns and vegetarian cabbage buns, to target the growing single-person household demographic. The company is collaborating with food manufacturers like Chimei and Lianxia to ensure quality and scalability while maintaining traditional flavors.

Simultaneously, Nestlé has introduced Cheerios whole grain cereal to Taiwan. The product, which is rich in fiber, iron, and zinc, is being sold exclusively at Costco in a three-pack family sharing set. This move aims to capture the breakfast market by offering a nutritious and convenient option for students, professionals, and families.
