Food experts rank chocolate and ice cream ingredients

Experts from Centrum Respo have released a ranking of dark chocolates for 2026, highlighting significant differences in ingredient quality among popular brands. The analysis identified six products with poor nutritional profiles, specifically noting high sugar content and the presence of palm fat. Among the discouraged products are several varieties from E. Wedel, including espresso, coconut, cherry-filled, and strawberry-filled options, as well as Roshen bubbly dark chocolate and Wawel mint caramel. In some cases, fruit content was found to be as low as 1.3% despite being featured in the product names.

In a separate comparison of chocolate ice creams, Marletto brand ice cream from Biedronka was rated better in terms of ingredients than Grycan brand. The analysis focused on the composition of 500ml cups, evaluating sugar, fat, and additive levels.
