Food poisoning incidents hospitalize dozens in Mexico

More than 50 people were hospitalized after eating chicken flautas at a 15‑year‑old celebration in Fresnillo, Zacatecas. Victims reported severe diarrhea, vomiting and general malaise and were taken to several hospitals, including the General Hospital and IMSS facilities. Authorities suspect the chicken was spoiled and have called for an investigation into the banquet service.

In a separate case, several young patrons fell ill at the bar "La Calle" in Orizaba, Veracruz. Municipal police, paramedics and the Red Cross responded, providing pre‑hospital care before transporting the affected individuals to a hospital. The cause of the intoxication remains unknown, and local officials are evaluating possible administrative actions, including the bar’s closure.
