Food price inflation rises in Argentina and Spain

In Argentina’s Tierra del Fuego region, grocery prices rose in May, with vegetables increasing 6.6% and overall food and beverage prices up 2.3% month‑over‑month. Fresh cucumber led product‑level gains with a 35.2% rise, while lemons fell 15.8%.

In Spain, a consumer‑rights group reported that lemons, oranges and iceberg lettuce were the most expensive basic foods in June, with lemons up 10.3% on average and a 33.5% jump at Alcampo. oranges rose 7.6% and iceberg lettuce 4.6%, while some items such as white grapes and onions showed modest declines.
