Food prices in Poland projected to rise by 2027

Economists predict a significant rise in food prices in Poland by 2027. While current prices for fruits and vegetables remain stable due to local harvests and cheap imports from Southern Europe, experts warn this trend is temporary.

Jakub Olipra, senior economist at Bank Credit Agricole, notes that current low prices are supported by imports that offset domestic shortages. However, Adam Antoniak of ING BSK suggests that food price growth could outpace general inflation by the end of 2027. Olipra further projects that food price increases could approach 7 percent in the second half of 2027, driven largely by the cost of fertilizers and geopolitical factors affecting the agricultural sector.
