Food safety alerts trigger cheese and snack recalls in Ireland and UK

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued an urgent recall of two batches of French Brie sold at Dunnes Stores because tests found the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Shoppers were told to stop eating the cheese, return it for a full refund and seek medical advice if they experience symptoms, with particular warnings for pregnant women, the elderly and immunocompromised people.

In the United Kingdom, a series of product recalls were announced covering a range of items: a honey‑comb chocolate bar sold by Sainsbury's and Tesco was withdrawn for undeclared milk; Dalston’s Pineapple Soda cans were recalled due to a risk of the cans breaking and causing injury; Morrisons Savers cashews were pulled because they may contain glass; and Gü Double Sea Salted Caramel frozen dessert was recalled for undeclared hazelnuts and soy lecithin. Consumers were advised not to consume the products and to return them to the store for a refund or safely dispose of them.
