Food Safety Training Opens in Sarmiento and Reconquista, Argentina

The municipality of Sarmiento announced the opening of registrations for a new edition of its Safe Food Handling course, required to obtain the National Food Handler Card valid throughout Argentina. Interested residents must register by July 13 and attend the in‑person training on July 15, paying a fee of AR$22,500 and presenting ID, a current health booklet, and payment proof.

In the Barrio Obligado community of Reconquista, the Agency for Food Safety (ASAL) conducted a large training session for 50 local residents and entrepreneurs seeking the same carnet. Coordinated by Valeria Spontón, the evening class covered essential hygiene practices, such as proper meat handling and label reading, to help participants comply with municipal inspections and improve the quality of their home‑based food businesses.
