Food security initiatives launch in Paraguay and Mexico

In Paraguay, Banco de Alimentos has launched a national collection drive aiming to gather 40 tons of food. Supported by 1,000 volunteers, the initiative utilizes over 40 collection points in Asunción and the Greater Asunción area, as well as more than 30 points in the interior, including cities such as Ciudad del Este and Concepción. The organization currently works with 165 social organizations to support more than 52,300 people.

In Mexico, Fundación Alsea has commenced its 2026 edition of the ‘Va por Mi Cuenta’ campaign. Running from October 1 to November 30, the campaign seeks to surpass the previous year's record of 62.3 million pesos to combat food insecurity. According to director Ivonne Madrid Canudas, 77% of the children currently served by the foundation's dining rooms maintain an adequate nutritional status through monitored weight and height tracking.
