Food truck initiatives scheduled for October 2026 in Japan

Various food truck initiatives are scheduled for October 2026 across different regions in Japan.

In Ichinomiya, Aichi Prefecture, the West Exit Plaza of Ichinomiya Station will host a variety of kitchen cars as part of the ‘Street Challenge Mirai Action 365days’ project. The initiative aims to revitalize the area around the station through diverse food offerings, including skewers, crepes, tortillas, roasted sweet potatoes, and coffee.

In Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, the long-standing establishment Tochikuken, famous for its ‘kashiwa meshi’ (chicken rice) since 1921, is launching its own kitchen car service in October 2026. The mobile unit will serve signature items such as kashiwa meshi, kashiwa udon, and rice balls. The service is intended to reach areas without permanent storefronts, attend local events, and provide food support to disaster-stricken areas.
