Food trucks gain popularity at Mercer Island farmers market

The Mercer Island Sunday Farmers Market recently featured a variety of popular food trucks along 77th Avenue Southeast. Notable vendors included Mike’s Shave Ice, which drew long lines of customers, and Wise Guy Italian Food Truck.

Brandon Salmeri, owner of Wise Guy, has operated food trucks for 16 years. His business focuses on specific items like meatball subs and sausage, peppers, and onions heroes. Salmeri noted that on a successful day, his truck can fulfill 300 orders.

Other local options include Las Bugambilias, a Mexican-fusion truck operated by Nico and Yeni Morales, which serves burritos and tacos at the Mercer Island Town Center.
