Food vendor survives gas explosion in Bandung, Indonesia
A meatball vendor in Indonesia survived after being engulfed in a sudden fireball caused by a suspected gas leak. The incident occurred around 11:00 AM on a Saturday in the Taruna Complex, Pasir Endah, located in the Ujungberung district of Bandung, West Java.
Security footage captured the moment the explosion occurred while the vendor was pushing his food cart through a residential neighborhood. Local residents reported hearing a loud blast and found the vendor on fire, quickly intervening to extinguish the flames with water.
Preliminary indications suggest the explosion may have originated from a portable camping stove used for cooking rather than a large gas cylinder. The vendor sustained burns to his face, head, neck, and hands, though reports indicate the injuries were relatively minor and he was able to walk away from the scene. The explosion also destroyed the vendor's inventory, including meatballs, noodles, and seasonings.
