foodpanda launches accident insurance for delivery riders in Bangladesh
foodpanda has announced a partnership with digital insurance platform Bimafy to provide fully funded, 24/7 personal accident insurance for all active delivery riders in Bangladesh. The initiative, signed at the company’s Dhaka headquarters, is the first of its kind for food delivery riders in the country.
Under the policy, riders who complete at least one delivery per week are eligible for coverage. The insurance provides Tk100,000 in cases of accidental death, permanent total disability, or complete loss of sight in both eyes or multiple limbs. Additionally, Tk50,000 is allocated for certain permanent partial disabilities, such as the loss of a single hand, foot, or sight in one eye.
The program is part of pandahearts, a rider support initiative focused on safety, well-being, personal development, community, and welfare. Other benefits offered by foodpanda include discounted healthcare, mobile data plans, e-bike installment plans, and upskilling opportunities.
