Netflix to release ‘Fool Night’ anime on November 26, 2026

Netflix has announced the global release date for the anime adaptation of the manga ‘Fool Night’ by Kasumi Yasuda. The series is scheduled to premiere on November 26, 2026, with all episodes available for streaming simultaneously.

Produced through a collaboration between animation studios Sunrise and SHAFT, the series is directed by Atsuyuki Yukawa. The story is set in a dystopian future where Earth is shrouded in clouds, preventing sunlight from reaching the surface and causing oxygen levels to plummet. To survive, humanity utilizes ‘Transfloration,’ a technology that transforms terminally ill individuals into plants to produce oxygen.

The plot follows Toshiro, a young man living in poverty who undergoes the transformation to save his mother, only to gain the unique ability to understand the language of plants. This ability leads him to assist authorities in investigating crimes related to the plant-based society. The production features a cast including Koki Uchiyama and Minako Kotobuki, with music composed by Tatsuya Kato.
