Football associations in Morocco and Mali address club and national team developments

Football organizations in Morocco and Mali are addressing administrative and competitive preparations for upcoming seasons.

In Morocco, the Union of Sports Associations of the Marrakech-Safi region has scheduled a meeting for September 4, 2026, to discuss challenges facing local clubs. Led by Aziz Belkhir, the gathering aims to address critical issues such as funding, subsidies for travel and equipment, player and staff insurance, and the structure of championship match formats.

In Mali, the Malian Football Federation (FEMAFOOT) has announced a preselection of 42 players for the national team, the Aigles du Mali. This list will support upcoming international fixtures, including matches against Cape Verde and Liberia for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, as well as a friendly against Tunisia. Additionally, FEMAFOOT is preparing for U17 competitions in Dakar and Ouagadougou and is implementing new technological equipment to monitor player performance.
