Football Australia selects Joeys squads for upcoming international tournaments

Football Australia has announced squad selections for the CommBank Joeys as part of preparations for the FIFA U17 World Cup in November. The selections include dual-national prospects and academy players from the Western Sydney Wanderers.

Max Lyall-Rajendra of Bournemouth and Sebastian Siegler of the Colorado Rapids have received their first call-ups. Lyall-Rajendra is eligible for Australia, England, Italy, and Scotland, while Siegler is eligible for both Australia and the United States. Manchester United youngster Jariyah Shah is also returning to the squad for the U17 Copa España in Spain.

Four Western Sydney Wanderers Academy players—Lachlan Allen, Georgio Hassarati, Emile Katrib, and Marcus Savic—have been selected for the U17 Copa España. The tournament, held in Spain from September 21 to October 2, will feature matches against Panama and Morocco. Head Coach Carl Veart noted that these matches serve as a final testing period for the 2009-born players before the World Cup squad is finalized.
