Football clubs host young fans in emotional community gestures

Football clubs Osasuna and Liga de Quito recently hosted young supporters facing significant personal challenges, providing them with unique experiences at their respective stadiums.

At El Sadar, Osasuna welcomed Gorka Goñi Mendiburu, a young man from Elbete who has three amputated limbs following a bout with meningitis. Accompanied by his family, Goñi was given the opportunity to view the match against Racing from the sidelines, where he met several players and club officials. The club also presented him with jerseys from players such as Raúl Moro and Ante Budimir.

In Ecuador, Liga de Quito opened the Rodrigo Paz Delgado stadium to a young fan named Evan. The club described the boy as a “warrior who inspires us,” noting that his visit allowed him to interact with the first team and experience the professional matchday environment. The club highlighted the visit as a way to promote hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
