Football coach arrested in Amazonas for alleged abuse of 13-year-old

A 29-year-old football coach, José Ribamar da Costa Ramos Junior, has been arrested in Atalaia do Norte, Amazonas, on suspicion of sexually abusing a 13-year-old athlete. The arrest was carried out by the Child and Adolescent Protection Police (DPCA) with support from local authorities.

Investigations indicate that the suspect used his position of authority during training sessions to commit the abuses. The victim reported that the coach would touch him inappropriately and react with physical aggression, including punches to the chest, if the teenager attempted to resist or distance himself.

Furthermore, authorities allege the coach used Pix transfers to coerce the minor into sending intimate photos and videos. The suspect reportedly used offensive audio messages to pressure the victim and instructed him to ensure he was alone before sending files to avoid detection. He faces charges of rape of a vulnerable person, favoring sexual exploitation, and storing child pornography.
