Football Federation accepts Hossein Abdi's resignation

The National Teams Committee of the Football Federation has approved the resignation of Hossein Abdi.

In response to recent performances by various national teams, including the Olympic team, Football Federation President Mehdi Taj stated that the federation's responsibility is to select coaching staffs and provide necessary facilities and training camps. Taj noted that while recent results for the senior national team may not be ideal, friendly matches are intended for tactical preparation and planning for upcoming Asian competitions rather than just avoiding losses.

Taj addressed the performance of several age groups, noting that the federation has fulfilled its duties regarding the Olympic, senior, youth, and futsal teams. He acknowledged that the Olympic team could have achieved better results and expressed that he is also a critic of their performance. Furthermore, he emphasized that the public and media have the right to criticize national team results, provided the criticism is constructive.
