Football Federation of Macedonia admits VAR error in Shkëndija match
The Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) has officially admitted to a VAR error during the match between FK Shkëndija and Sileks in Kratovë. The federation confirmed that a legitimate goal scored by Shkëndija in the 37th minute was incorrectly disallowed due to an erroneous offside ruling.
According to the FFM, the initial assistant referee correctly allowed the goal, but the VAR officials failed to complete the offside line-drawing procedure accurately. The error occurred because the VAR team did not recognize that the attacker's body part was onside.
While Shkëndija ultimately won the match 2-0, the FFM stated that the VAR officials involved will face sanctions following a full review by the Referees Council.
