Football Federation official responds to Wrestling Federation president

Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, the first vice president of the Football Federation, has responded to recent comments made by Alireza Dabir, the president of the Wrestling Federation. Dabir had suggested that the state should clarify the status and future of football.

Nabi expressed surprise at these remarks, stating that the legal and organizational status of the Football Federation has been established for years and is more advanced than that of the wrestling federation. He noted that the football federation operates under a general assembly and statutes that were approved by the global federation long ago.

Nabi emphasized the massive scale of football operations in Iran, noting that over 300,000 matches are organized annually with the help of 32 provincial boards and the League Organization. He highlighted the complex logistical requirements involving security, medical services, and the deployment of thousands of refereeing pairs. He also attributed the international success of Iran’s national beach soccer, futsal, and men’s football teams to the long-term efforts of coaches, clubs, and the federation’s organizational structure.
