Football figures discuss Bosnian league and national team development

Former goalkeeper and coach Tomislav Ivković and football director Emir Spahić have shared insights regarding the state of football in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Speaking at the Simposar international sports symposium, Ivković commented on the domestic league, noting that Borac and Zrinjski consistently compete at the top and maintain European continuity. He expressed concern regarding the recurring issues faced by Željezničar and criticized the current implementation of the VAR system, suggesting that technical nuances still allow for human error in decision-making.

Meanwhile, Emir Spahić, director of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team, discussed the importance of expanding the player pool. He emphasized the ongoing effort to recruit young players born in Europe to strengthen the national squad. Spahić noted that while the country has a limited number of players, the goal is to integrate talented individuals from across the continent to improve the team's depth and quality.
