Cupa României group stage draw features Cluj derby

The Romanian Football Federation has completed the group stage draw for the 2026-2027 Cupa României. The competition features 24 teams divided into four groups of six, including 14 teams from the first division, six from Liga 2, and four from Liga 3.

Notable group assignments include a Cluj derby in Group B, where CFR Cluj and Universitatea Cluj will face each other on October 28. Group A features Rapid, UTA Arad, Corvinul Hunedoara, FC Botoșani, Minerul Lupeni, and Poli Timișoara. Group C contains FCSB and FC Argeș, while Group D includes Universitatea Craiova and Dinamo.

The group stage matches are scheduled to begin on September 2, 2026, with subsequent rounds on October 28 and December 2. The tournament will progress to the quarter-finals on March 3, 2027, with the final set for May 12, 2027.
